Joshua Ray Walker continues to receive raves for sophomore album; moves UK tour to June 2022

29-03-2021

Joshua Ray Walker released his stunning sophomore album Glad You Made It last year, and the Dallas, TX artist continues to receive praise for the album. In their “Best of Dallas” issue, the Dallas Observer made its own category for Walker - “Best Future Country Icon” - saying “this is the guy to watch, y'all. Joshua Ray Walker is an incomparable crooner who's well on his way to country legend status.” Glad You Made It has spent 11 straight weeks on the Americana radio albums chart, and album standout “Voices” can be found on key playlists like Spotify “Indigo” and Tidal’s “Country: Best of 2020.”

A young master at pulling compelling stories out of unexpected places, Walker recorded the album with producer John Pedigo, and the duo made use of an expanded sonic palette. They kicked off the tracking sessions at Audio Dallas, capturing everything on two-inch reel-to-reel tape and working with the same musicians who appeared on Walker’s acclaimed debut Wish You Were Here. From there, they headed east to Nashville, where they set up a makeshift studio in an Airbnb and finished the album with contributions from numerous roots-rock road warriors, including pedal steel player Adam "Ditch" Kurtz, singer/songwriter Mallory Eagle, slide guitarist Wade Cofer, and bluegrass staple Gaven Largent.

Unfortunately we have to wait a little longer to welcome the - "Country’s most fascinating young songwriter; the baby-faced, 6XL guitar hero with a Dwight Yoakam voice and songs about suicide and boat-show models." - (Rolling Stone) to the European / UK shores as Joshua Ray Walker moves his UK tour dates to June 2022.
