Bob Wayne wants to 'head to the country' and confirms 2022 tourdates

Late last year Bob Wayne surprised with dropping a new single: “Headed To The Country”. The single is Wayne’s first official release since his 2017 album, Bad Hombre, and his first official project with GRAMMY-award winning producer, Shooter Jennings. “Considering the state of the world and everything going on in it today I feel I can't be the only person who wants to flush their phone down the toilet and head off into the sunset,” says Wayne about the inspiration for the song.

Wayne enlisted Jennings as producer for the one-off, who gathered his wrecking crew of Los Angeles musicians John Schreffler (guitar, pedal steel), Aubrey Richmond (fiddle), Ted Russell Kamp (bass) and Jamie Douglass (drums and percussion) and headed into Station House Studio in Echo Park to whip up “Headed to the Country.” Wayne weighed in on his decision to have Jennings produce, saying “Shooter and I have been friends for a long time and it was great to finally get into the studio and collaborate musically. I feel Shooter really brought the song to the next level.”

Accompanying the single release, a video for “Headed To The Country” shows Wayne in downtown Los Angeles toting the ever-familiar mask we’ve all grown accustomed to, and outside of the city distanced and unmasked, but black-eyed and beaten down - seemingly willing to let the wicked have their inner cities. 

The tour which was set for this year is not able to take place, unfortunately. We rescheduled the tour to March-May of 2022, happy to share the first batch of dates today:
