Becca Mancari finished tour with Julien Baker; full European headline tour announced
13-09-2018Call her music country, call it indie rock - Becca Mancari doesn’t mind as long as you’re really listening.
Becca, who’s 31 and makes boundless-sounding, steel-hued tunes about love and self-reflection, doesn’t really think of herself as a country musician. “I’m more of a experiential sounds songwriter,” she explains to Fader over the phone from her apartment in Nashville. “For me, the sounds in the band are just as important as the actual words. And I don’t always tell complete stories. I write about my life, but I try to open it up even moreso you can experience what you feel in the songs, too.” All said, she doesn’t really mind what kind of label you use, as long as she’s got your ear.
Becca Mancari was born in New York but found her musical home in the South. Her anticipated debut album, Good Woman, is hauntingly lonesome, with dust-cloud swells of electric guitar and don't-look-back lyrics revealing scenes from Mancari’s well-travelled story. Since her music is the landscape of all she's seen, Good Woman evokes the sound of city grit and the mountain music of her youth, swirling into a fresh, nostalgic sound.
Becca Mancari has just finished her first tour in Europe supporting Julien Baker but she's returning with a full band in November. Today we're happy to expand the headline dates with the final dates in the UK:
